My Path to Becoming a Therapist

My journey towards becoming a psychotherapist began over a decade ago.
After twenty years in scientific and technological roles, I decided to change professional direction and pursued a degree in Psychology at the Open University. These studies, coupled with earlier personal experience with mental health issues, led to a keen interest in becoming a therapist. I trained in Counselling and Psychotherapy at PCI College, Ireland, graduating with an honours degree awarded by Middlesex University. As part of my training, I carried out a clinical placement with Mind & Body Works, Galway, gaining over two years experience with a broad range of clients presenting with diverse issues. During this time, I also provided online counselling to clients availing of PCI College's low cost services.
I currently work in Student Counselling and Wellbeing at the University of Galway, as well as running my private practice at rooms located in The Plaza office complex in Galway city. I also provide counselling services online.
